Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we do accept uncertified diamonds under certain conditions. If you wish to sell a diamond that has never been certified, we will only be able to provide you with a quote upon examining the item to ascertain its condition. This can only be done in-person, so you will need to send your item to us to receive a quote.

If your diamond was certified but you have lost its grading report, we can provide a quote directly online.

Final offer on your diamond will depend on its size and 4Cs quality. The rarer the gem, the higher its value. Coloured diamonds can also fetch higher prices due to their scarcity.

Prices rise exponentially along with a diamond’s size, which means there can sometimes be a price difference between a 0.90ct 1.00ct diamond.

At TOVA, we always strive to offer a fair price for your valuables. The nature of the market means that unless your diamond is of great value, has rare qualities that cannot commonly be found, or was bought a long time ago, there is always a chance you may be selling at a loss. This can happen and is something that you will need to consider when deciding to sell your item.

If you have a loose diamond, you can also have it set in jewellery, which could add more value to your item.

The process of selling precious stones can depend on whether you are selling them loose, or set into a jewellery piece. The value of your item might increase if it is made in a high-quality precious metal, such as 18k gold or platinum.

You can back out anytime during the process, even when you’ve already sent the item over. If you haven’t yet signed our purchase confirmation, there is no obligation to complete the sale. If you would like your item sent back, you will be required to cover postage fees.

Diamonds do have a market price based on size, colour and clarity. These prices are updated weekly by Rapaport, which establishes the benchmark for diamond pricing globally. Prices fluctuate week on week, however, this only applies to clear diamonds. Coloured diamonds do not have a market price.

Please rest assured we will always offer a price that reflects current market prices.

We perform routine checks and due diligence on every diamond to ensure its quality matches the certificate provided. When selling your diamond or diamond jewellery, you will also be asked to sign a form to confirm your identity.

We only accept items sent from the UK.

We will send instructions on how to send your item safely to us within the UK. Please note that any postage fees will be covered by you. Once received, we record our team opening the package to ensure it fits its description, and to prove that your package was not tampered with upon arrival.

After a routine check to ensure your item fits its description, you’ll receive payment within 10 working days, via bank transfer. You’ll also receive an email confirmation that payment has been sent. If you do not receive payment, please contact our customer service.
